The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées generously strives to introduce more and more people to the universe of classical music, however far they might be from this form of culture. Through playful and didactic shows, we try to erase the symbolic barriers that estrange this population from the lyric world.
Since 2014, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has been offering audio descriptions* of the young audience shows, in order to welcome a visually impaired audience. The elements these spectators cannot see are described to them through a headset lent during the performance. Thus, they can visualize the entire stage area with a rendition of the settings in Braille. They are also encouraged to touch the costumes and accessories wore by the singers before the show.
Your support would help us pursue our commitment and would permit us to keep offering audio description devices for the upcoming performances.
